Did you ever have one of those days when you felt like loafing on the sofa? Today was one of those days. Last week, we had our kids and grandkids at our "beach" condo and we kept on the go--the beach, the Mote Aquarium swimming at the pool, eating out, eating in, diving for sand dollars and collecting seashells down by the seashore. It was so much fun riding the waves with Clara, our five-year-old granddaughter. When a wave washed over her, she shook it off and said, "Mimi, I think I should have worn my goggles." I couldn't stop laughing! She's fearless in the water and we stayed in the emerald green waters of Siesta Key until our fingers got all pruney.
Today we're in preparation mode for Tropical Storm Elsa. It's just like having a blizzard, except instead of buying bread and milk, we're stocking up on batteries, water and ice in case we lose electricity.
Even though all this stuff has me in a daze, I'm content just where I am--living my best life by the ocean. An occasional tropical storm is so much better than the earthquakes we endured in Ecuador; there was no advanced warning for those. Keep the turtle nests in your prayers; we don't want those baby turtle eggs washed out to sea. I'll keep you posted. Passionately yours,
